12 Wedding Reception Planning Tips
Want your wedding reception to be planned to perfection? Don’t sweat about it as we’ve got your back! Being wedding photographers & videographers, we know a thing or two about what the perfect reception looks like and we are here to share some of our tips:
- Finalize The Number of Guests First
Before you settle with a venue, finalize the approx. number of guests who will be attending your wedding. This way, you can book the right venue without worrying about space.
- Tour Your Location
Once your location has been picked, make sure to take a proper tour of it and note down all it’s little features. Look at the things you can highlight to make your wedding reception something worth remembering. Some areas may need to be spruced up a little more than others.
- Keep Mother Nature In Mind
The weather should never be overlooked. Guests tend to go back home early if the weather is too unpleasant for them. When having an outdoor wedding, consider things like pest control or maybe a tent if it’s too hot out. Always have a plan B in case of unexpected weather.
- Big Tasks First
Before you get into the small wedding details, tackle the big tasks first such as picking a venue, hiring a caterer and making your mind about the décor. Caterers often have a few different sample menus for you to taste and it can take some time to make the final decision.
- Dress the Entryway
Front door decorations are recommended since it’s the first thing your guests see when they enter.
